ScanDas server is a cutting edge universal data acquisition software that allows to acquire, log and trend data from any device that supports Modbus/ASCII, WITS <WITSML/> and other protocols in the industry. ScanDas has been built with performance and user friendliness in mind, the intuitive user interface allows for an easy learning curve yet highly customisable.
The friendly Intuitive user interface was carefully designed to balance between simplicity and flexibility with minimum configuration from the user. The menus are designed in a logical way to ease the learning curve.
ScanDas client is a desktop application which essentially has the same features as server, the difference is that the source of the data for client version is coming from Scandas server. It can be used in the office/ onshore to view data form the field remotely.
Much as ScanDas Client, with FieldSight you can see multiple field locations with just a browser from anywhere in the world in any laptop or desktop or in FieldSight App for tablets and phones.
Scandas allows multiple connections simultaneously with support of many communication protocols including: Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus serial RTU/ ASCII, ASCII stream WITS, <WITSML/> and more.
Each connection comes with an innovative configuration helper to figure out connection channel details with very little input automatically.
ScanDas Can also be used to translate any protocol to any protocol for example from WITS to <WITSML/>
ScanDas is shipped with wide range of displays and monitors including digital displays, radial gauges, level gauges, grids, dynamic grids and trends.
The User can design gorgeous process diagrams with loads of library symbols covering most equipment used in oil field, such as separators, tanks, sand catcher, flow meters, coriolis meters , transmitters, gas and liquid controls etc...
Digital and level displays, Lamps can be used to display values and status and buttons can be used to control valves or actuators.
Fast performance trend supports millions of data points with up to six axes sets thanks to multi-threading and high performance vector technology as oppose to conventional pixel trends.
The user can load huge data points in a matter of seconds. The user can load data from the database as is, or average them if desired. The trend can be used to plot historical data and trend real time data.
The trend tool supports plenty of annotations on the trend view. When dropping two vertical lines on the trend view, the user can get quick useful stats data (Average, Min Max Count etc..) of the available channels in the trend on the fly without exporting data and doing it manually. The trend supports printing, saving screenshot to an image file.
Custom Formula is powerful feature that allows the user to define a mathematical expression to calculate a formula on the fly.

Scandas is shipped with super fast logger (thanks to multi-threading technology of the modern CPUs) to log data in the database.
The user does not have to configure the logger, it comes with a default logger (1 minute log interval and all the channels are logged) out of the box.
However, the user can setup, modify and change as many loggers as desired with different log intervals and selecting which channels to be logged.
Losing data is one of the biggest challenges especially when the data is huge, a backup system is a fundamental part that should be available to prevent data loss.
ScanDas offers multiple solutions for backup to cover every scenario. A backup is carried out in 5 different circumstances:
1- When the logger stops
2- Automatic (Periodically)
3- When shutting down the application
4- Manually
5- When recalculating data
Allchannels in Scandas (Analog channels, digital/ pulse channels, formula channels, ASCII, WITSchannels, Gas, Oil, Water meter channels etc…) have four level of alarms:
1. Very Low
2. Low
3. High
4. Very High
The alarm notification can be visual (in channel displays and status bar) or can be audible (optional).
All user software changes, settings and inputs as well as alarms, faults and error messages, are instrumented in the events .
The user can filter and search the event logs for finding user inputs, alarms or error messages, this way it is super easy to trace changes and find faults
Data can be exported to a CSV file or to a beautiful ready report (the user can select from page, title pages, charts, summary tables etc…)
The units of the data exported can be setup. And the data exported can be averaged if desired.
